Bienvenue parents and students to our classroom website!
My name is Mme. Page and I am so excited to be teaching the grade 6 Extended French class at Regent Park! I feel so honoured to call this wonderful school my home! We are getting settled quite nicely, and students are learning classroom and school expectations in order to ensure the utmost safety in our school community. We are also learning new things about one another everyday! What a great group of kids!
This classroom website is designed to keep parents up-to-date on some of the things we are doing. More importantly, it is meant to be a tool for communication! I will post homework, assignments, important dates, and important school information here on the site. You will also find this information in your child's agenda, as I feel students should be responsible for their own organization. However, just in case items are lost in the shuffle from school to home, this is your go-to place!
Just a little note about me...
I have always wanted to be a teacher, and even before I was your child's age it was my life's dream to teach! Part of my childhood was spent in Orillia, and in Edmonton, Alberta. I played very high level sports (at the provincial level for basketball and soccer), and healthy active living is something I try to instil in my students through example. From my early years in school and all throughout university, I have always been completely invested in my academics, and being a life-long learner. I triple-majored in Anthropology, Geology, and French at The University of Western Ontario, which gives me a nice balance of science, social science, and language for the classroom. I attended York University for my teaching degree.
After university, I lived in the South of France for several months immersing myself in the French language and culture! Being in a foreign place on my own was quite difficult, but it is an experience I will cherish forever. After all, it is only when we push ourselves do we see what we are truly made of!
My husband and I love animals, and we have a little fur baby named Daisy Duke! Some of my hobbies include travelling, sewing, gardening, painting (old furniture), and fitness! However, my passion is teaching!
I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you!
À bientôt (see you soon),
Mme. Page
